i went to the Roots concert last Wednesday! video of them with Bun B!!!

So I saw The Legendary Roots Crew last week for the third time, and it was the shiznazzle. What set this shit off was that they brought out Bun B and he did his verse from "Int'l Players Anthem."
RIP Pimp C. Here's my video:

Professor Grif from Public Enemy was there also. I know, random, but apparently he brought his son for his birthday. Whatever the fuck he was doing in Houston is still a mystery.

So yea, Roots Crew fam.

The Roots will be in Houston next Wednesday.

This'll be the third time I've seen them, and they're the shit. I know some people who have seen them 70+ times, so you should at least see them once. Tickets are available here. Not expensive at all.

new al green!

For his new album Lay it Down,(May 27th) legendary soul singer Al Green hooked up with The Roots' drummer ?uestlove. You can hear 2 tracks off the album here. They also recruited the Dap Kings, known for their work with Sharon Jones and Amy Winehouse/Mark Ronson.

From the sounds of things, this album should be amazing. I love old 60's/70's soul, and it has always bothered me that no contemporary artists have ever strived to recreate that sort of classic sound. Instead, it seems like most artist are concerned with sounding like whatever bullshit is in rotation on the top 40. With his new album, it looks as if Al Green and ?uest have actually been able to recapture some of that old school mojo. I can't wait!!!
